Re: China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon 2014

Can anyone remember what is the max time limit for this full marathon?

And on a scale of 1-10 in terms of difficulty, how does this rate against the HK Standard Chartered Marathon?

I did the latter in 4h36min, and from the sounds of it, the challenging inclines at Sai Kung would be far more difficult, and I imagine would probably take me an extra hour to complete....

Re: China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon 2014

The time limit of the full marathon of the China Coast Marathon should be 6 hrs

Re: China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon 2014

yes it is more difficult but this is balanced by cold weather . for me standard chartered is about 5hrs 15 but in cooler coast of china is only 5hrs 25 despite walking many hills .

Thanks Blurmax and Mikec!
I guess I'll give it a try, and cross the finish line roughly around same time as you then! :)

Can't wait to enjoy the scenery there...

Re: China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon 2014

I did it this year. Challenging but fun. I tried to keep my standard pace but the climb at the half mark (which luckily only needs to be done once) turned me into a wise person, and I slowed down. Finished 30 minutes over my PB. I now wear their T-shirt whenever I can. Because I feel the China Coast is not for everyone: it is special.

Re: China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon 2014

If you check the results of this year, they count half marathon up to 3:30 which you may take as an indicator if you can't find such information on their website.

Re: China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon 2014

Please note that we do not have any cut off times for the China Coast Marathon or Half Marathon, the finish will be manned regardless of your time.
Both races start together at 8am, we like to start clearing up by 2pm, in order to be off site by 7pm, but we will happily keep the Finish open until all runners are over the line.
This event is Hong Kongs original marathon, organised by AVOHK, runners working for runners.
