Has anyone run in previous years or plans to run in the Hokkaido Marathon in Japan on 26 Aug 2012?

Nice place, very clean.
Can be warm for running, it's the middle of Summer.

I suggest you check the Weather Underground website where you can see the weather for this day and location in past years.

I looked for Sapporo for 2011 and it ranged from 15-25 degrees.

I found it warm, but Hong Kong is warmer.

Hokkaido Marathon 2010 was my first ever marathon two years ago. It started at 12:10pm with temperature 22c in cloudy Sapporo city and then 33c+ in cloudless rural area (blue sky, short trees beside roads). You can imagine how hot it was. Fortunately, water & pocari stations were placed every 2.5km. With reference to statistics, temperature in Hokkaido marathon period is usually 25c+. One good news is the start time changed to 9:00am this year. Anyway, you're advised to wear/bring a cap & wear sun glasses unless you want to enjoy nice sunshine in Sapporo.

thanks for all the input guys. i've decided to go with the city to surf marathon in perth which is on the same day. cooler weather, beautiful course, same time zone, etc influenced the decision.
let me know if anyone also plans to participate.
