Good shoes for trail running?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good pair of trail running shoes. I usually run in Asics for road running but fancy having a bit more support when running trails.

If you Prefer Asics they offer good trail shoes too. Otherwise look at Adidas and Salomon

Salomon and Montrail are the ones I enjoy.

I've tried Columbia but wasn't convienced.

My choice is La Sportiva Crosslite. Offers light and sufficient protection. I like it very much layas it is not overbuilt shoe.

I love using the Columbia Ravenous, very good grip and they can take a lot of abuse without any problems.

This is a hard one, because I don't know about others - but I've tried quite a few;

NB - The model (MT909) I had was great but now discontinued. I bought another pair(diff. model) but were nowhere near as good.

Asics - Trail Sensor 4, way too stiff for concrete and pavement sections of HK trails.

Adidas - I am now on Adidas (cheap and good reviews online). So far so good.

I ogled Salomons for a long time and tried a pair of Crossmax on in a store - they were too narrow for my feet.

Brands like La Sportiva & Pearl Izumi seem worth a try but they are not available retail in HK (correct me if I'm wrong.

Brands like Merrel & TNF seem disengaged from the trailrunner market & more fashion-oriented for mine.

If Ascis fits you well then I suggest you stick to the brand. They offer many different models of trail runners for you to choose. But do consider the type of trails that you going to run as for some strange reason the HKSAR government decided to cover many trails with concrete.

I am an Adidas Response Trail fan... good price and I've never had a spran ankle in them.

The Racing The Planet shop in Sheung Wan sells La Sportiva, olus a wide range of other trail running shoes.

Thanks all for your great advice. Ended up going with Salomon and so far so good. The difference in support when running trails to road shoes is huge. Much better support
