.... who was the Bowen Road runner ?

Monday night saw relatively dramatic events on Bowen Road.... A workmans truck got stuck on the bridge just after the 1.4 km point. Apparantly a frustrated runner (and I can certainly sympathise) attempted to get past by climbing along the railings on the right hand side of the bridge heading towards the Happy Valley End. Witnesses say he either lost his footing or stepped off thinking there was banking on that side. Not so, its at least a 20/30ft drop and down he plunged. A large group of us were trapped on the Happy Valley end of the bridge as the emergency services performed a very well organised rescue to winch him back up which took the best part of an hour. Apparantly he is an American named Jim, would be good to know he is recovering well if anyone knows him.
