Giant Porcupine on Bowen Road!

The highlight of my run tonight was an encounter with a porcupine on the Stubbs Road side of Bowen Road. My friend noticed a dog like creature running down the water catchment only for us to realise it was giant porcupine! It froze when we walked over, hid in the shadow before quickly sprinting off in the other direction - it obviously wasn't enjoying the presence of a couple sweaty/smelly runners =)

If only I had my camera!

Any Zoologist/Animal Experts out there? Are they common in HK? Especially one measuring 3 feet end to end (it was indeed a giant)! Or were we hallucinating due to the heat?
