Ankle Injury
Anyone had experience with ankle injury, with ache or pain from the inside of the ankle (where the protrduing bone is round to the other side towards the outside of the feet. It aches like crazy for about two days and goes away. I do not quite understand what causes it. What are the remedies? The usual RICE? Thank you.

Re: Ankle Injury
I am currently having the same problem and have had it for about six weeks. It seems to get better but then comes back with a vengeance. I have iced it and have it strapped during waking hours to make it bearable, but it keeps coming back and giving me hell. I plan to see the doctor today to get treatment. If anyone has had first-hand experience and had the problem fixed, and also plans to respond to bakhwee then please share with us all. This is as bad as tooth ache!
Thanks
Richard
Re: Ankle Injury
Best to get it x rayed and insist the doctor looks very carefully it could be a fine hairline crack . Friend of mine had a very painful top of the foot and even after two x rays doctor told him there was nothing wrong only when he insisted and went back the third time did they notice a very fine crack on his bone which was causing occasional pain and swelling . Clearly then he could only rest until it was completely healed otherwise continued running even after icing may have caused more damage .
Good luck
Re: Ankle Injury
Thanks mikec. Yes, my foot was x-rayed from multiple angles. Did not show any fracture. The current recommendation from the doctor is to have customised insoles as I over pronate due to having no arch on the left foot and low arch on the right side. So, I guess the podiatrist is the next step for me.

Re: Ankle Injury
With custom-made insole or arch support as prescribed , you can seek a sport Physio. for mobilize your small joints / bones in the foot due to your structural problem .
