Isaac So Wins a Free Trip to France
Isaac So won herself an all expenses paid trip to France at the Putrajaya 12-hour race in Malaysia Saturday night. She covered 82K racewalking between 8PM Saturday and 8AM Sunday. The trip wasn't actually one of the prizes, but she was beaten by a well-known international walker Kora Bouffilert (94K), whose coach invited Isaac for a return match at the Rouen 24-hour in June. Even the air ticket is supplied, although Isaac will have to take Air France with all that wine, cheese, suave Frenchmen, etc.
There was also a prize for the first to 50K, where Billie Kwok managed to keep her nose in front of Isaac (6:55), but Billie then had to quit to get back to Hong Kong for work on Monday. Ken Cheung did likewise, taking second prize in his first 50K (5:30).
Sue Wong, Ho man Ho and K.K. Wong also finished the 12 hours, though out of the money. Bouffilert collected about HK$7500 in prize money. Billie and Ken each won $1500. Isaac brought home $3000, plus her invitation to France.
