Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010

BTW, I still cannot see the route map in the website. Does anyone know how to find it?

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010 Route

If the route is the same as past years, it runs on the bicycle path going north from the sports grounds, turns left when it reaches Shing Mun River, and on the south bicycle path along the River, turns right on the twin bridges between the race course and water treatment plant to 4 Km from the sports grounds before doubling back.

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010 Route

Thanks for the info from speeto. At least I got some idea what the route is.

Regarding to my own question, I have sent an eamil to 力行社 yesterday, and here is their reply : 唔好意思,本會暫時沒有路線圖。

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010 Route

Can't blame them. The organizer is a district councillor also concerned with his own training. His wife and a group of volunteers help to organize several MOS & Shatin-based races a year. Their relatively low race entry fees reflect this situation.

They can be extremely busy at times. Perhaps some of us more google-map and computer savvy people can give them a hand.

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010 Route

Understood and appreciate their hard work in organizing such good race. Have checked the route by the Google Map, looks like is a flat route which good for a beginner like me.

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010

Hi, I just wanted to make an observation about the entry procedure for this race. In theory its a nice race starting in the Sports stadium, similiar to the RRAC summer run. The entry form is in Chinese so I asked my HK coworker to help. She says that you have to send an A4 sae because the organizers will send the souvenir vest, bib number and chip back to each runner before race day. Ive never heard of this procedure before??? Sounds complicated. Also, how do I know what postage stamps to put on the A4 envelope etc? anyway,I'll skip this run!

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010

Mistersmarmy, your coworker has wrongly translated the instructions for you. Yes, you have to attach two stamped self-addressed envelopes, one is 4"x9" and another 9"x12". The two envelopes are to be used for delivering the confirmation letter, certificate and the cheque of chip deposit only.

I do not enrol this race this year, but my friend told me that the bib and chip had to be collected at the Chinese New Year Fair at Victoria Park (the organiser will have a stall here).

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010

Mistermarmy, I got someone else's stuff last year, so I checked it the bin and didn't bother running.

Re: Ma On Shan Cup 2010

Finally found the route map in the "[下載比賽資料]" at the website. Looks like this is quite a flat track.
