Race December 5th-7th?
I will be staying in Kowloon this weekend December 5th-7th and did not see a 10K race listed on the site. Any chance there is a race anywhere near Kawloon this weekend?

Re: Race December 5th-7th?
Did you? This coming Sunday is a busy one and we have at least 2 races in Hong Kong, one in Macau and one in nearby Shenzhen. Please check out this page: http://www.hkrunners.com/?q=event/2009/12/01/list/all/all
I think most races have closed, but you can try to contact the organizer of Reservoir Race in Tai Lam Chung and see if they can take you as a late entry. They are visitors friendly. I would recommend this one because the race, although a bit far from the city, is held within our beautiful country park area, entirely traffic free and with more important, fresh air!
If you look for something more challenging, you can travel to Macau (ony an hour away from Hong Kong by ferry) for the Macau Marathon (both full and half), and they still accept entries on Sat.
Hope you have a good time in Hong Kong!
Re: Race December 5th-7th?
Dear TexasPete,
The Tai Lam Chung Race is highly recommended. It is a 15K Race but with only a few k steep slope at the start and at the end. The organiser accepts entry on the race day provided that the race limit is not exceeded. (The race limit is 400, and so far only some 260 runners have registered.) The race-day entry fee is $150. They also provide shuttle bus from west side entrance of Pennisula Hotel at Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon at the fee of $40 only. The bus departs at 7:00 a.m. sharp. For other details, you may go to the organiser's website (www.aovhk.org.hk).
Re: Race December 5th-7th?
Noticed a slight typo with the URL address above for AVOHK. Should be: www.avohk.org
Re: Race December 5th-7th?
Thanks for the information, 15K will be a stretch for me but probably achievable and the bus will be very convenient to my hotel. How will I know if the race is still open for entry on race day?
Re: Race December 5th-7th?
You may check the latest entry list at the website of AVOHK on 5 December 2009 to see whether the 400-quota is full or not. You may also call them. The telephone number is listed on the entry form.

TexasPete
Take the risk, you will get in for sure. Thanks Peter
