A specialized running course of a duration of 3 months will be launched on Oct 4 with Chung Yu Ho as the coach-in-charge. Details are as below:
COURSE AIMS:
- Assist enrolled runners in planning appropriate training loads (volume & intensity) so as to save large amount of time & minimize chances of injury;
- Enable each training to be more efficient and effective in terms of improving stamina and average running pace;
- Boost athletes’ maximal volume of oxygen uptake (VO2max uptake) and lactate threshold;
- Assist class athletes to better their health, to achieve racing goals & enjoy running races.
FEATURES:
- On the basis of individual athlete’s target pace, physical fitness and condition, the training load would be computed in each session for achieving training effectiveness as greatest as possible, avoiding over-training and under-training. Blood lactate levels in selected workouts will be measured for monitoring & optimizing the effectiveness of the training.
- As regards to training periodization, enrolled runners would be assisted in training planning for achieving peaking during races.
- Planning nutrition and diet in the competition period (especially for Marathon) for coping with optimal energy reserve and energy metabolism in races.
- In view of the physiological features of the master athletes, appropriate modes of training & nutrient recovery would be provided. Also, undergoing training in this course would most likely boost your stamina, muscle strength, flexibility as well as lower the possibility of osteoporosis & bone decline, resulting in alleviating arthralgia (joint pains) & joint stiffness.
